Below are some quick points to note when preparing for a track meet: - Parents will provide transportation to and from the meet. - All athletes are required to arrive 1 hour prior to the meet start time. - Parents should bring lots of water and healthy snacks for your athletes. Meets typically start at 8 am and run until about 4 or 5 pm. - Athletes need to stay hydrated and nourished at all times. - Athletes should STAY OUT OF the SUN during meets. Several parents purchase tents or sports umbrellas to provide shelter from the elements. Please refer to the meet information sheets to see if any restrictions apply to tents and umbrellas. - Preparation for a meet starts prior to the meet itself. Athletes should eat a nutritious dinner the night before, high in carbohydrates, and get a good nights sleep. - Athletes should refrain from swimming prior to a meet. Swimming negatively impacts a runners performance.
